Our Story

Once upon a time in the charming town of Tampin, Negeri Sembilan, a small partnership named Mama Nor Yong Tau Foo embarked on a culinary journey. What started as a humble venture soon blossomed into a thriving enterprise, evolving into Mama Nor (M) Sdn Bhd (MNMSB), a fully-owned Bumiputera Melayu private limited company, registered under the venerable Companies Act of 1956.

Established on April 28, 2017, Mama Nor had a vision to redefine Chinese Muslim Cuisine. Their pioneering concept centered around Yong Tau Foo, a beloved dish, and their secret family recipe for a special sauce became the talk of the town. The first outlet, strategically located in Tampin, marked the beginning of a gastronomic revolution that combined the richness of traditional flavors with modern culinary excellence.

MNMSB quickly gained a reputation for offering customers a unique experience – a blend of hotel-quality dining at affordable street food prices. The company’s commitment to excellence was recognized by the local authorities, with the Tampin District Council awarding Mama Nor the BeSS (Bersih, Selamat, and Sihat) Certification for food operators on August 14, 2020.

Not content with just culinary accolades, Mama Nor sought to become an integral part of the local community. Their premises were not only registered with the Tampin District Council but also became the first and only establishment in the area to be recognized by the “Route Pit Stop Friendship Official (RPFO).” This community of Pit Stop entrepreneurs shared Mama Nor’s vision and mission, aligning with Malaysia’s tourism policies. Together, they offered a variety of services to both tourists and locals, turning Mama Nor into a pit stop for delightful gastronomic adventures.

As Mama Nor (M) Sdn Bhd continued to flourish, its story became a testament to the harmonious blend of tradition and innovation, creating not just a restaurant but a cultural landmark in the heart of Tampin. The aroma of their delectable Chinese Muslim Cuisine wafted through the air, inviting people from near and far to savor the unique flavors that only Mama Nor could offer.

Mission

  • Establishing a factory to process halal and pure sauces and ingredients for yong tau foo.
  • Producing ‘ready to eat’ products under our own brand based on the main menu in restaurants (‘killer menu’) such as Pes Sambal Bodosing, Sotong Grill Sambal Bodosing, Udang Grill Sambal Bodosing, Daging Grill Sambal Bodosing, Ayam Grill Sambal Bodosing, Mee Wantan, and others.
  • Obtaining recognition of Halal certification from the Department of Islamic Development Malaysia (Jabatan Kemajuan Islam Malaysia) for all products.
  • Expanding the market for our own brand’s products nationwide and regionally through a network of agents and stockists.
  • Creating business and job opportunities for the local community.
  • Boosting economic activities through “food-tourism” initiatives.

Vision

  • To produce, distribute, process, and market tofu and yong tau foo ingredients by Muslim Bumiputera with high quality, and to create a brand at the international level.
  • To open business opportunities with the Franchise concept.
  • To diversify business branches, not limited to food and beverage activities.
